Driving Meaningful Change
Core Behavioral Issues We Resolve
Leash Reactivity & Lunging
We stop the frantic barking, lunging, and spinning on the leash, teaching your dog to remain completely neutral and focused on you when passing other dogs.
Human & Dog Aggression
We safely address offensive and defensive aggression, utilizing safe management tools and science-based counter-conditioning to rehabilitate social responses.
Resource Guarding
We eliminate the growling and snapping associated with high-value items, teaching your dog that humans approaching their food, toys, or resting spaces is a positive event.
Fear & Environmental Phobias
From loud noises to specific types of people, we slowly rebuild a fearful dog's confidence, turning paralyzing anxiety into calm curiosity.
Separation Anxiety
We implement structured routines and independence-building exercises to help your dog remain calm and self-soothe when left alone at home.
Severe Impulse Control
We channel hyper-arousal and frantic energy into disciplined, highly rewarding tasks, giving the dog a structured outlet for their drives.
Handler Safety & Mechanics
We teach you exactly how to hold the leash, read your dog’s body language, and safely manage the environment to prevent bites and backsliding.
The Rehabilitation Journey: Rebuilding Trust
Overcoming severe behavioral issues is a delicate process that cannot be rushed. Here is our scientific approach to lasting change:
The Behavioral Diagnostic
We conduct a deep-dive evaluation to uncover the exact triggers, genetic drives, and historical trauma fueling your dog's reactions.
Foundation & Communication
Before we ever face a trigger, we establish clear, motivational communication so your dog understands exactly how to earn rewards and access safety.
Threshold Management
We introduce the trigger at a distance where your dog feels completely safe, rewarding them heavily for choosing to look at you instead of reacting.
Systematic Desensitization
Inch by inch, we safely close the distance to the triggers, completely changing your dog's emotional response from panic to positive anticipation.
Handler Empowerment
We transition the mechanics to you, teaching you the exact timing and leash handling required to advocate for your dog and maintain their new, calm mindset.
Living with a highly reactive or aggressive dog in the Lehigh Valley can feel incredibly isolating. You stop having guests over, you walk your dog at midnight to avoid neighbors, and your own stress levels skyrocket.

I can’t begin to explain how helpful and wonderful all the staff and trainers were to me and my boy Gunner. I came in with a puppy that had no manners and all around wild child, hated to admit it but I needed help. After the 4 week day train program I was left with a better mannered pup and all the tools needed to continue to have the best possible relationship and well mannered dog in the future. Everyone was very kind, patient and understanding with me and my wild fur child. I literally couldn’t have asked for a better experience for me and my boy Gunner. Thank you again everyone that worked with me and Gunner, continuing with what me and him were taught you guys gave me the perfect stepping stones to having a well mannered pup in the future.

We take our GSD to Stateline in Hanover. First, we could not ask for a better team to work with our dog. They are always friendly, understanding, patient, and happy. I honestly can say the staff is always happy to assist, answer questions, and are there every step of the way. They take care of our dog during the day just like I would want for my children. When she has had accidents, they bathe her. When she has an upset belly, they tell us. When we had to reschedule, they worked with us without a problem. When we are doing training, they are able to also laugh with us & dont make us feel “dumb”. Its only been 3 weeks and its like I have a new dog. I have more confidence from their support and our life has started to become easier for all of us. We will forever be grateful for Stateline & all of the staff.

I wanted to share how amazing Austin the trainer is. He did a fantastic job with our 2 year old Cane Corso Ellie Mae. We were at our wits end. She wanted nothing to do with the mussel. Within an hour he had mastered it. It was unbelievable. I would highly recommend Austin and the team at Stateline Canine.

Can’t say enough good things about all my experiences with Sateline. As a new dog owner I was extremely nervous to make sure I was doing all the right things. They were extremely helpful during and after training. The end result is the perfect adventure buddy. She went from a bit of unpredictable puppy to a fun companion and I feel very grateful I took the leap. Stateline gave me the tools needed to maintain everything Wayland learned along the way and it’s been a massive bonus to have a trusted place to board her. I think sometimes she doesn’t even want to leave when I pick her up lol. Shout out to Naomi and all the other professional trainers for their help and great care of Wayland. Great investment and your little one is in good hands with Stateline. Thanks again!

I recently attended a Janet Edwards seminar, and it was truly life-changing. The amount of experience, knowledge, and valuable information she shared was incredible. I left with so much to think about and apply, and it was one of the most impactful and educational dog training experiences I’ve had.
I’ve also attended Shawn Edwards seminars, and those were amazing as well. Both bring so much experience, insight, and real-world knowledge to the table, and it’s clear how much they have to offer the dog training community.
I have also previously used State Line for other seminars and events, and every experience there has been excellent. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and set up really well for dogs and handlers. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and welcoming, and it’s absolutely a place I would trust with my dog anytime.
If you’re looking for a professional dog training facility, high-quality dog training seminars, and experienced people who truly know dogs, I would absolutely recommend State Line.

Great place for training. We took our shelter rescue staffy mix here for boarding and training. After 3 weeks of training she was ready to come home. The staff was great throughout her training. We received numerous phone calls and text messages about her during her training. On pick up day we never felt rushed by the staff and they were great with going over all the commands with all 3 of us. I would highly recommend them to anyone who's looking for a great service at a fair and reasonable price
Frequently Asked Questions
Common Questions About Behavioral Modification
In behavior modification, we focus on management, threshold conditioning, and changing emotional responses rather than using the word "cure." We can drastically reduce reactions and give you the tools to safely and calmly manage your dog in public, ensuring a high quality of life for both of you.
Absolutely not. While habits ingrained over years take time and consistency to unravel, older dogs are highly capable of learning new coping mechanisms and adopting neutral behaviors when taught through clear, low-stress methods.
No. Punishing a dog that is acting out of fear or defense only suppresses the warning signs and damages trust. We utilize science-based, motivational counter-conditioning to address the underlying emotion, not just the surface symptom.
Safety is our highest priority. If a dog has a bite history or is a severe flight risk, we will utilize highly positive muzzle conditioning. A properly conditioned basket muzzle is a wonderful, humane tool that keeps everyone safe and allows the dog to comfortably pant and accept treats during training.
