After having the opportunity to attend a Deadpool Decoy Seminar with Shawn from Stateline Canine, I wanted to take a moment to share my unsolicited review:
I find the training was excellent. There was a great focus on proper basics; as well being supplemented with tips and tricks for those who are experienced decoys also. In all honesty, I learned more in a single weekend with Shawn and his senior instructors than I have at some “brand name” training schools. From personal protection, public safety, and all levels of sport, there was something to learn about training these dogs in the most successful and optimal of ways.
I find the environment was light and easy to learn in. This was a refreshing change from some of the other programs out there where some instructors are more interested in convincing you they’re the smartest dog trainer in the world, and it’s there way or no way at all to properly train a dog. Moreover, safety for decoys and the dogs was paramount. I also find skills and theory were evenly mixed and thoroughly explained. Then followed quality hands on experience to reinforce the skills which were explained. All in all, a great combination for all style learners.
All being said, I look forward to continuing to learn from Shawn and his staff at future seminars, courses, and on his awesome Patron page where he and Janet share great information and visual examples to learn from.
In closing, I’ll leave the readers with a famous quote a training:
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
